Important information

Internationally qualified occupational therapists are still required to complete the Orientation to the Australian Healthcare System Checklist through one-to-one supervision with an eligible supervising occupational therapist who has held AHPRA registration for at least three years. The completed checklist must then be submitted to the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia in accordance with the Board’s requirements.

Completion of the Preparing for Practice Program does not by itself fulfil the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OTBA) orientation requirements that must be completed within three months of commencing practice. However, the program provides a strong foundation of knowledge and skills to help participants meet these requirements
